Sue Mitchell

Originally from Quebec, Sue has also lived in various provinces across Canada as well as Scotland and the US. Feeling the draw of the ocean she moved to rural Nova Scotia in 2020.

As the daughter of a gifted artist, she always wanted to express herself artistically but says she could never draw. She has always been fascinated by light and its effects on/through objects. She explored this initially through photography but in 2017 she discovered the art of stained glass and hasn’t looked back since.

In the process of creating stained glass art she has finally found the medium that combines her technical and puzzle solving skills with her fascination with light. In all her art you can see the attention to detail while still maintaining the overall feeling of movement and flow of the piece. She has a wide range of work from the stylized animals and birds to scenery to geometric and completely abstract.
