MIxed media generally means two or more mediums or materials–such as paint, drawing materials, photographs, cloth, or newsprint–used in one piece of art.

Mixed media includes works such as collage (such as items glued to a flat surface) and assemblage (which may be more 3-dimensional), and even some kinds of sculpture.
